In this research-oriented master's program, students expand their knowledge of philosophy in the full spectrum and variety of its traditions. Two aspects characterize the degree program: It offers students the greatest possible freedom to immerse themselves in special areas of study of their own choosing, and it makes it possible for students to engage in the interdisciplinary aspects of philosophy. Students acquire analytic, hermeneutic, and logical-argumentative competencies oriented toward current research questions. They do so by using the texts and the tools necessary for independent scholarly work and the presentation of results.
