The Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at the University of Siegen equips students with skills to plan and build in a responsible and innovative way. The program covers engineering fundamentals (mathematics, mechanics, surveying), classic disciplines (statics, transportation, construction operations, hydraulic engineering), and current topics (sustainable building materials, flood protection, mobility concepts). It blends theoretical learning with hands-on experience through lab internships, field trips, and applied projects. The program is structured in three phases: fundamentals (1st-2nd semester), advanced fundamentals (3rd-4th semester), and specialization (5th-6th semester) with options in Structural Engineering, Traffic and Road Engineering, or Water and Environment. A 12-week internship is required by the beginning of the 4th semester. The program is also offered as a dual study option combining academic study with vocational training.
