📋 Program Hakkında

The Musicology program covers a spectrum ranging from ancient Greece through the symphony of 1800 to computer-aided composition programs and pop music cultures. Whether Josquin, Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Lady Gaga or Taylor Swift - all are covered in this bachelor's program. In the study of musicology, students examine the prerequisites and conditions of the phenomenon of music from historical, cultural, social, media and scientific perspectives. Students learn to listen to things not perceived at first glance and acquire the ability to explore and write stories about music and music-making in society. The program offers a broad spectrum of topics from Greek antiquity to contemporary pop music, with special focus on Western-oriented music and cultural-historical perspectives. A unique feature is the field of Music Informatics, which is rarely offered at other German-speaking universities.
