The Social Informatics program focuses on analyzing and modeling the interactions between society and computer science, the co-evolution of social norms and processes, and the software that supports them. The program provides foundations in computer science, methods from empirical social research and psychology, microeconomic and game theory models from economics, ethical perspectives through dialogue with philosophy, and a good understanding of the legal situation. The computer science component emphasizes software engineering methods, information and communication systems, project management, and web-based software systems. The program integrates knowledge from three departments: Computer Science, Economics, and Social Sciences.
