📋 Program Hakkında

In the master's degree program in Physics at KIT, students benefit from numerous elective options and can expand the basic scientific qualifications in experimental and theoretical physics acquired in the bachelor's degree program to create an individual competence profile. The close contact with research both in the university and large-scale research area is reflected in research-oriented teaching. The standard period of study is 4 semesters, during which students will acquire 120 ECTS credit points. Students develop their profile in the first year by choosing modules within their Major in physics from topics such as Condensed Matter, Nanophysics, Optics and Photonics, Experimental Particle and Astroparticle Physics, Cosmology, Theoretical Particle Physics, and Condensed Matter Theory. The program includes a Second Major, Minor, Non-Physics Elective, Advanced Physics Laboratory Course, and Interdisciplinary Qualifications. The second year includes Introduction to Scientific Methods and a specialization phase, culminating in a master's thesis.

* Minimum degree required: Bachelor's degree in Physics or a related degree course with essentially the same content * Minimum knowledge in Theoretical Physics: at least 32 ECTS credits * Minimum knowledge in Experimental Physics: at least 32 ECTS credits * Minimum knowledge in Physics lab courses: at least 18 ECTS credits * Letter of motivation (1000-3000 characters) in German or English * Proof of entitlement to examination (not having definitively failed an examination required by the examination regulations)
