The Pharmacy program encompasses theoretical, laboratory, and practical training to become a pharmacist who must be able to independently perform all pharmaceutical activities. According to the legal mandate, these include the development, production, testing, and dispensing of medicines, including patient counseling and education, training, and further education. The strongly practice-oriented pharmaceutical education includes a four-year university study of pharmacy, an eight-week internship, a practical year after studies, and the Pharmaceutical Examination to be taken in three sections (state examination). During the basic studies, students learn the fundamentals in general, inorganic and organic chemistry of drugs, physics, pharmaceutical formulation, pharmaceutical biology, and pharmaceutical analytics. The main study deepens the science of pharmacy, focusing on the production and analysis of medicines and their interactions with the human body.
