📋 Program Hakkında

Computational Methods in Engineering is a two-year accredited graduate Master's program that focuses on advanced computational methods for solving real-world engineering challenges. The program started at Leibniz University Hannover in 2001, motivated by broad research activities in the field. It provides training in sophisticated modeling techniques, judgment of computational results, and development of new computational methods. The curriculum covers modern element technologies, multi-scale and multi-physics modeling, machine learning for material and structural mechanics, and various discretization techniques including finite elements, finite volume, boundary elements, and particle methods. The program structure includes: compulsory modules related to sophisticated skills in Computational Engineering and elective modules in the first and second semesters; possibility to go abroad or do an internship within industry or at a university abroad in the third semester; and a master's thesis in the fourth semester, with an interdisciplinary project in the second or third semester. Graduates will be proficient in methods dealing with mathematics, information technology, and engineering modeling of simulation methods widely used in industry, with awareness of social, economic, and ecological significance of their analyses.

* Minimum degree required: A bachelor's degree or equivalent in a suitable previous degree programme such as Civil Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering * Required credits: 15 CP in Higher Mathematics, 18 CP in Mechanics/Statics/Elastostatics/Kinetics/Kinematics, 12 CP in Computer Science/Programming, 10 CP in Natural Sciences, 6 CP in Numerical Methods/Finite Elements Methods, and 5 CP in Probability Theory/Statistics * Third semester offers possibility to go abroad or do an internship within industry or at a university abroad
