The Master's program in Transnational Journalism is a binational study program between Mainz and Paris offering a German-French double degree. Students learn journalistic work from the ground up, acquiring comprehensive skills in all common media genres including print, online, radio, and television journalism, mobile reporting, social media, podcasts, and virtual reality. The program has a practical and international focus, with studies conducted at two universities: Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz and Université Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris. The program is trilingual (German, English, and French), enhancing not only language skills but also intercultural competence. Students benefit from collaboration with international journalists and have opportunities to participate in international research projects and public broadcasting cooperations. Mandatory internships in Germany and abroad deepen knowledge and strengthen professional networking. Individual supervision ensures training tailored to students' needs. Graduates receive a double degree from both universities, providing excellent opportunities in the German-French and international job market.

* Bachelor's degree with 180 credit points or equivalent university degree that is recognized as qualifying by both partner universities * Passing an aptitude test (Eignungsprüfung) * If the Bachelor's degree certificate is not available by the application deadline, applicants must have earned at least 135 credit points and submit a certified copy of all completed coursework and examinations including the average grade achieved so far
