📋 Program Hakkında

The two-year Master's program in Technomathematics is a scientifically research-oriented program that creates a close connection between mathematics, technology, and computer science. The program builds on knowledge acquired in the Bachelor's program in Mathematics. It requires prior theoretical and practical basic knowledge in mathematical modeling, computer science & computer-aided methods, numerics, and the theory of ordinary differential equations. The education aims to enable graduates to successfully collaborate with engineers or natural scientists in solving technical problems by applying mathematical methods and models. Students choose a specialization in one of the areas: Modeling & Scientific Computing (Partial Differential Equations, System and Control Theory), Image Processing & Data Analysis, or Biomathematics, where they are specifically introduced to current application-oriented mathematical research. The curriculum is flexible with no mandatory courses, but prescribed volumes from specific subject catalogs, allowing students to enter application-oriented mathematical research according to their abilities and inclinations.

* Minimum degree required: Successful completion of a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics at RPTU in Kaiserslautern or equivalent qualifications that include a professional university degree (e.g., Bachelor, Diploma) * Special admission requirements: Successfully completed examinations for the module "Introduction to Numerics" and a module covering "Introduction: Ordinary Differential Equations" (or equivalent modules), advanced modules from the subject areas "Modeling & Scientific Computing" or "Analysis & Stochastics" worth at least 18 credit points, and equivalent achievements to the modules in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Physics to be completed in the Bachelor's program in Mathematics at RPTU in Kaiserslautern * Conditional admission: Students from other Bachelor's or Diploma programs, especially students with foreign university degrees, may be admitted with conditions
