📋 Program Hakkında

The overarching objective of the master's degree program is to convey to students advanced knowledge and skills that will enable them to practice the profession of meteorologist or geophysicist. In the area of meteorology, this means building on existing knowledge from the bachelor's degree program to develop the ability to mathematically and natural scientifically observe, analyze and predict environmental variations that occur in the atmosphere. In the area of geophysics, such knowledge and skills primarily include the ability to mathematically and natural scientifically observe and analyze physical occurrences and phenomena that take place inside the earth (e.g. earthquakes). The program emphasizes independent problem-solving, flexibility in facing new challenges, and developing innovative ideas. Graduates can conduct and refine methods used to observe and forecast weather and climate. Possible career paths include civil service, environmental protection, media, consulting, software development, academia, and renewable energy sectors. The program is offered in cooperation with the University of Cologne and provides the possibility to earn a Double Degree in cooperation with the University of Padua.

* First qualifying university degree with 60 ECTS credits in meteorology/geophysics, mathematics, and physics * At least 10 ECTS credits must be in mathematics * At least 10 ECTS credits must be in physics * At least 20 ECTS credits must be in meteorology/geophysics * English language proficiency at least B2 level * If your Bachelor's programme lacks the required credits, complete modules as bridging courses in the BSc. Meteorology and Geophysics
