The Bachelor's program in Business Chemistry (Wirtschaftschemie) provides a broad and coordinated foundational knowledge in the traditional subjects of Chemistry and Economics. The training in chemical disciplines such as Analytical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Theoretical Chemistry, and Technical Chemistry takes place alongside economic topics like Marketing, Cost and Performance Accounting, Financing, and Environmental Economics. The program includes special lectures that demonstrate which economic rules must be followed for products, new developments, and services of chemical or chemical-medical companies to be successful in the market. The curriculum also includes lectures on mathematics and business and chemical law. In several laboratory internships, students learn the necessary working techniques for experimental chemistry. Special attention is given to modern topics such as sustainability, circular economy, climate change, environment, resource conservation, and energy efficiency. The study enables students to use the acquired knowledge to solve problems and develop skills for interdisciplinary thinking. The completion of a final bachelor thesis provides insights into current research topics.
