📋 Program Hakkında

The subject of History in the Master of Education degree program focuses on the methodological exploration of historical events, persons, objects, structures and processes, familiarizing students with the questions, methods, theories and approaches of historical research. Students acquire expert knowledge of central aspects of the three great historical epochs: antiquity, the Middle Ages and the modern era. Furthermore, they acquire the methodological and theoretical competences needed to work with relics of the past. At the heart of the program is students' work with historical sources, verifying their authenticity as well as analyzing and interpreting their significance. While students in the bachelor's degree program focus on gaining subject-specific knowledge, the Master of Education degree program puts a stronger emphasis on educational sciences and subject didactics. Through didactic modules, students develop the ability to transform specialized questions and research results into relatable history lessons. The practical semester is a key component of the degree program.

* University degree (German or non-German) in a relevant discipline * 67 ECTS credits each in subject knowledge/subject didactics modules of the chosen school subjects (with 3 ECTS credits each in subject didactics) * 24 ECTS credits in educational sciences (with 3 ECTS credits on the topic of inclusion; aptitude and orientation internship as well as vocational internship) * Bachelor's thesis 7 ECTS credits * 9 weeks internship, including 25 days at a school * Basic Latin certificate is required

* German language proficiency: DSH level 3, CEFR level C2, as per DSH exam regulations * Other language skills: Two foreign languages (modern languages on CEFR level A2 or qualification in Latin/Greek) * Basic Latin certificate is required
