📋 Program Hakkında

The Master of Science in Molecular Cell Biology is a two-year research-oriented program offered jointly by the Department of Biology, the Faculty of Medicine, and the Faculty of Agriculture. It is designed for graduate students with a background in life sciences such as biology, biochemistry, molecular medicine, or agriculture. Molecular Cell Biology unveils the molecular processes that rule development, physiology, and disease mechanisms. The program offers a broad spectrum of state-of-the-art methods and approaches to decipher molecular and cellular mechanisms. The program has a modular structure: The first semester consists of mandatory modules with lectures and seminars about biochemistry, molecular genetics, developmental biology and physiology, molecular cell biology, biophysics, and statistics, along with a basic course providing fundamental practical experience in molecular biological techniques. The second semester includes elective modules (25 to choose from), teacher seminars introducing students to the scientific community in Bonn, and soft skills courses on scientific writing, literature research, and presentation design. The third semester is praxis-oriented with two lab rotations and a project exchange that allows for internships outside the university. The final semester is dedicated to the master's thesis. The program's mission is to prepare students for careers in life sciences and related professions. Possible lines of work: Basic research in all areas of the life sciences as well as in (bio-)medical research (institutes of the Max Planck Society, big-science facilities, etc.), managerial position in the pharmaceutical industry, academia (teaching/research at universities, research institutions, etc.)

✅ Giriş / Kabul Koşulları

* University degree (German or non-German) in a subject related to life sciences or in a related field of study * Minimum grade of 2.7 or local equivalent * Practical knowledge in biochemistry, molecular biology, microbiology and cell biology at the level of the Bachelor of Biology in the amount of 5 ECTS each (total 20 ECTS) or an equivalent proof * Applicants from outside Germany or another EU country must pass the aptitude test for university studies
