The Lehramt an Gymnasien (Teaching at Secondary Schools) programme prepares students for the teaching profession at Secondary Schools from grades 5 to 13. It consists of two subjects, plus educational sciences and a STEM-oriented interdisciplinary networking area. The subject Philosophie/Ethik addresses fundamental questions of human thinking and actions on a scientific and systematic level. This particularly includes questions regarding the justification of moral norms, the foundation of moral judgement as well as the validity of social and political order. Philosophy examines the validity of knowledge acquisition, methods, principles, arguments and theories of any kind and any discipline. The program includes practical training with in-company internships and practical phases in schools.
