The excursion includes visits to several Frankfurt museums including the Museum of Applied Arts, the German Architecture Museum, and the City Lab at the Historical Museum, which showcase the 'Neues Frankfurt' theme from different perspectives. The course also includes a visit to Mathildenhöhe in Darmstadt to explore its impressive Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) ensemble and the permanent exhibition 'Raumkunst - Made in Darmstadt' featuring furniture, ceramics, books, textiles, sculptures, models, paintings, and prints that illustrate the significance of Mathildenhöhe for design and architectural history. The course is primarily aimed at first and second-semester students who have not yet participated in an excursion.
