📋 Program Hakkında

The Master's program in Industrial Engineering at the University of Rostock is research-oriented and provides a high-level overview of the content, basic principles, concepts, and methods of business administration as well as mechanical engineering or alternatively electrical engineering. Industrial engineers are able to raise creative research problems, initiate technical developments, create the necessary business prerequisites, and thoroughly assess the consequences. Graduates apply their problem-solving skills to the complexity of the processes entrusted to them. They acquire the competence to develop leadership qualifications. In this research-oriented Master's program, students acquire broad professional competence through the combination of engineering and business specializations. Students can pursue the study directions of mechanical engineering or electrical engineering, depending on their previous studies. Building on compulsory and elective modules in business administration, students can specialize according to their study direction by choosing one of four or three engineering specializations. Subsequently, there is the possibility to directly combine the economic and engineering sub-areas into interdisciplinary scientific work in the study and master's thesis. Graduates possess the ability to work across hierarchies and functions in business and engineering fields of companies.

* General admission requirement: A first professional qualification (usually Bachelor's degree) * Specific admission requirements: A first professional qualification in Industrial Engineering with at least 180 ECTS credits or another equivalent degree * Proof of at least 42 ECTS credits in economics and law (of which at least 30 ECTS in business administration), at least 42 ECTS credits in study-related engineering sciences (mechanical engineering or electrical engineering), at least 18 ECTS credits in mathematics, at least 6 ECTS credits in computer science or a basic natural science subject * If not all criteria are met, applicants can provide additional evidence of their subject-specific qualification. The examination board then decides in an individual case examination whether the applicant will be admitted to the program.
