The insurance, banking and consulting sector is the largest field of activity for mathematicians besides the IT industry. The 'Actuarial and Financial Mathematics' program prepares for a career in this field. In addition to the mathematical foundations, it teaches instruments of applied mathematics (especially from the field of stochastics), knowledge of insurance and financial mathematics, basic economic knowledge, and (optionally) data science techniques. In particular, the mathematical learning objectives (basic knowledge) of the training to become an actuary (DAV) are taught across several modules in the bachelor's and master's programs.
