Çevre bilimi ve teknolojisi, atıklardan ham madde çıkarılması, atık su geri dönüşümü, sera gazı emisyonlarının ölçümü, atmosfer araştırmaları veya çevreye minimum etkiyle malzeme dönüştürme süreçleri gibi toplum için büyük önem taşıyan geniş bir yelpazedeki konularla ilgilenir. Bu durum, TU Berlin'deki Çevre Bilimi ve Teknolojisi Bachelor programının pratik odaklılığına yansımaktadır. Öğrenciler, kirletici maddelerin ve hijyenik ve toksikolojik açıdan ilgili ajanların çevre ortamları olan toprak, su ve hava ile teknosfer içinde ve arasında gelişim, dağılım, etki ve dönüşüm süreçlerinin mühendislik ve ekosferle ilgili süreçlerini incelerler. Çevresel yüklerin, risklerin ve zararların tanınması, değerlendirilmesi, önlenmesi, azaltılması ve giderilmesi ile çevresel korumanın önleyici alanlarına özel önem verilir.

Environmental science and technology is concerned with a wide range of issues of major importance to society, such as the extraction of raw materials from waste, waste water recycling, the measurement of greenhouse gas emissions, atmospheric research or material conversion processes with minimal effects on the environment. This is reflected in the practical orientation of the Environmental Science and Technology bachelor's study program at TU Berlin. Students study the engineering and ecosphere-related processes of the development, distribution, effect, and transformation of pollutive materials and of hygienic and toxicologically relevant agents within and between the environmental media earth, water, and air, as well as the technosphere. Particular attention is paid to the recognition, evaluation, avoidance, reduction, and removal of environmental burdens, risks, and damages as well as to the preventative areas of environmental protection.
