The inter- and transdisciplinary degree course "Sustainability Studies (Bachelor)" at the University of Kassel enables students to initiate and actively shape change processes in sustainability management, sustainability-related model projects, educational work, or urban and regional development. The program offers interdisciplinary knowledge about human-nature relationships, socio-ecological transformations, and sustainable solutions. It focuses on diversity and solidarity, nutrition and land use, mobility and public spaces, and climate change and earth systems. The course combines fundamentals of social sciences, humanities, culture, natural sciences, and technology, teaching methods of transformation and sustainability research. Students deal with global challenges and develop innovative solutions in project modules, acquiring both scientific and professional qualifications. The program includes an eight-week internship in Germany or abroad and offers a compulsory elective area where students can set their own focus according to their interests.
