The Bachelor programme 'Air Traffic Management – dual (B.Sc.)' combines a study course with vocational training in collaboration with DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH. The course is held in English and entails a combination of practical training in the air traffic control field and a business-oriented study programme. Over six semesters, students split their time between studying at Hochschule Worms and undertaking vocational training at the Air Navigation Services Academy in Langen. The first three semesters are at the university, with employment in the DFS commercial department when not attending lectures. After the third semester, students begin air traffic controller Initial Training, earning a student air traffic controller licence by the end of the fifth semester. The sixth semester combines Bachelor's thesis work with on-site practical training (Unit Training) at DFS offices. The program develops an interdisciplinary understanding of the entire air traffic system.
