Sociology: Social Orders in Transition master's program is a research-oriented program that leads to full academic qualification in the subject of Sociology and establishes access to a doctorate. The program comprises: a well-founded qualification in sociological theory; knowledge of current scientific discussions in international sociology; transfer of application-oriented methodological knowledge; a 2-semester study project with research related to elective fields (Work/Economy/Administration, Culture/Religion, Society/Politics, or Societal Development); capability for independently designing research projects; and research-related qualification for planning a doctorate. The program qualifies graduates for various professional fields including human resources planning, social research, journalism, media and public relations, development policy, and academic careers in research and teaching.

* Minimum degree required: Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences/Sociology or comparable degree * Minimum Grade Required: Overall grade of at least 3.0 or 7.9 grade points * Program-specific requirements: Relevant Social Science or Sociology modules amounting to at least 48 credit points (CP), including knowledge of Methods of Empirical Social research amounting to at least 6 CP
