📋 Program Hakkında

The Master's program is the second part of the consecutive education in Physics: It expands on the theoretical and practical foundations of modern physics and imparts specialized knowledge. The profile of the program is research-oriented and introduces students to current research in physics and its mathematical-scientific neighboring disciplines. The specialization areas in the Master's program are oriented towards the main research activities in the department: Solid State Physics and Materials Science, Atomic Physics, Quantum Optics and Photonics, as well as Biophysics. Students start in the specialization areas with the basics of the chosen field. In parallel, they learn in a very research-oriented way in the Physics elective module: Special lectures introduce current research topics. In the General Elective Module, students can voluntarily take additional physics courses or learn the methodology and language of other scientific disciplines - as preparation for work in interdisciplinary research projects. In the Non-Physical Elective Module, students look beyond their field and learn to independently work on problems from topics in a non-physical conceptual environment. Regarding the range of subjects, students can qualify according to their interests and inclinations. The Research Module prepares students for their first own research project: the Master's thesis.
