The master program 'Information Systems' amplifies the course offerings in the field of economics at Freie Universität Berlin by adding a socio-technical component. The program bridges the gap between the economics master courses 'Management and Marketing' and 'Finance, Accounting and Taxation' and the technical master course 'Information Technology'. The program focuses on business analytics, e-business, IT entrepreneurship, operations research and decision support systems. Students learn how to use information systems on methodical and theoretical basis in an economic context, how to design such systems and to consider them in a critical way. The 'Individual Study or Research' phase helps students to plan and prepare for their individual careers with assistance from a mentor.

* Minimum degree required: A professionally qualifying German or equivalent foreign university degree * Specific requirements: At least 18 credit points (LP) in Information Systems or Computer Science, at least 30 CP in business administration, a final thesis in business informatics, and proof of the ability to work independently on topics from business informatics, computer science, data science and statistics using empirical, experimental, model-theoretical or analytical research methods
