Socioinformatics deals primarily with the analysis and modeling of the interactions between society and computer science, the co-evolution of social norms and processes, and the software that supports them. In recent years, it has become increasingly evident that software systems have the potential for profound social change. Examples include new communication possibilities on social network platforms like Facebook, the liquidFeedback software used by the Pirate Party for democratic decision-making, and also software that works more behind the scenes, such as smart buying and selling programs that trade stocks at high speed and can destroy stock values in minutes. The Bachelor's program in Socioinformatics is structured in four blocks: Computer Science, Economics and Law, Psychology and Society, and Socioinformatics and Methodology. The program is offered in cooperation between the Department of Computer Science and the Departments of Economics and Social Sciences.
