📋 Program Hakkında
This is a two-semester mandatory course for all Bachelor's degree programs, concluding with a graded exam at the end of the 2nd semester. In the winter semester, students are introduced to the fundamentals of Western art history from the Middle Ages to the Baroque period (800-1700), with consideration of women's participation or non-participation in the largely closed art system. Students will learn to recognize and understand the connection between art styles and socio-political developments that led to a very specific art culture in Europe. This includes the establishment of art academies, museums, art theories, art patrons, and a discourse that sought to prevent women's participation in the art scene until the 19th century. A script is provided for each topic in this workspace, which serves to review the lecture and prepare for the exam. Regular attendance at the lecture is highly recommended.
