📋 Program Hakkında

The internationally oriented postgraduate Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree programme in "Geophysics" promotes the latest state of geophysical research and technology. The degree programme teaches the student the theoretical and applied concepts of solid earth geophysics. The main foci are marine geophysics, applied geophysics including archaeological and soil prospecting, seismology, satellite and aerogeophysics. Close collaboration with the Helmholtz-Center for Ocean Research Kiel (GEOMAR) allows us to cover a particularly broad geophysical spectrum at CAU. Students may select courses based on their individual needs and areas of interest, and are taught by faculty actively pursuing research in these fields. The programme consists of core-courses (20 credit points), specialization courses (30 credit points), practical courses (20 credit points), freely elective module (15 credit points), seminar module (5 credit points) and Master-Thesis (30 credit points).

✅ Giriş / Kabul Koşulları

* Bachelor's degree in Geophysics or a related subject with at least 6 terms and 180 ECTS from a university in Europe (EHEA) * For non-EHEA degrees: Bachelor's degree must be formally accepted by uni-assist e.V., GRE revised General Test with minimum scores (145 verbal reasoning, 160 quantitative reasoning, 3.0 analytical writing), letter of motivation, and content verification test via zoom * For related subjects: 50 ECTS in Physics, Geophysics and Mathematics plus knowledge in Geology * With 40-49 ECTS in these subjects: conditional acceptance requiring additional 30 ECTS study (10 ECTS can count toward Master's) * Normal physical fitness required for field exercises

🗣 Dil Gereksinimleri

* English proficiency at level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages * Accepted certificates: Proof of completion of a B.Sc. degree in English, TOEFL ITP (Paper-based): 567 points, TOEFL iBT (Internet-based): 87 points, or comparable tests including certificates from German universities certifying B2 level
