The course 'Art Science with an Extended Concept of Material' focuses on examining the handling of material in art as a central subject of art history, particularly in relation to form questions. The program explores transformation processes in exhibition spaces that have recently become the subject of artistic procedures, accompanied by philosophical reflections in the context of the so-called 'Material Turn'. The course emphasizes an expanded concept of material that challenges both heterogeneous materiality interacting in the artistic process and includes human and non-human agents, formulating a concept of materiality in post-medial environments in the context of displays and dispositives. The focus is on artistic processes with performative and feminist material approaches, both the activities of a production process and the receptive experience as common social forms of action. The research field investigates these processes as affiliations of materiality and focuses on aspects of collaboration, collective, feminist, and queer artistic agency.
