The interdisciplinary Master's program in Mechanical Engineering with Applied Computer Science focuses on the growing market of information and communication technologies, which play an increasingly important role in processes and products of mechanical engineering (keyword: mechatronics, cyber physical systems, and Industry 4.0). With fundamental know-how from both mechanical engineering and computer science, graduates have excellent prospects in research and development departments of both disciplines, especially in areas at the interface between the disciplines. The degree qualifies for doctoral studies. The program includes mandatory modules in Digital Production Systems, Handling Technology and Industrial Robots, Digital Engineering II, Modeling of Software Systems, Foundations of Software Engineering, and Laboratory work in Mechatronic Systems or Automation and Control Technology.
