The Music Management program prepares musicians to actively tailor their professional life to their expectations. The teaching covers not only traditional job profiles like orchestral musician, concert soloist or music teacher, but focuses on the entire spectrum of music-related activities. The program acknowledges that music graduates' careers often follow non-typical patterns, resembling a mosaic with alternating stages and part-time employment. The curriculum includes topics such as contract law, self-employment, negotiation and interview training, finance, tax, copyright, marketing, advertising, time management, and project work. Practical questions like writing musician biographies and creating artist photos are addressed. Seminars are tailored to different specializations including orchestral instrumentalists, singers, and future freelancers. Special topics such as CD production, concert agency work, and pension provision are examined through excursions, lectures, and workshops with top-class guest speakers.
