The master's program in Area Studies: Romance Cultures comprises the fields of study French, Italian and Spanish Philology and the sub-subjects Linguistics, Literature and Cultural Studies; the focus is on Cultural Studies. The master's degree is research- and theory-oriented and is thus aimed at students with an academic interest; it familiarizes students with relevant research approaches and provides in-depth competencies in the culture, media, language, and literature of the Romance languages. A compulsory component of the master's degree is a project module in which a project work on the topic of interculturality or media is completed. French, Italian and Spanish can be chosen as first or second language.
