📋 Program Hakkında

This master's programme is offered jointly by the University of Oldenburg and the University of Applied Sciences (Fachhochschule) Emden/Leer, and is intended to fill the gap between traditional physics and engineering. Students gain a comprehensive understanding in selected areas of physics. Additionally, the application of physics and engineering is elaborated upon in a focal area that can be chosen from the areas of "Laser & Optics", "Biomedical Physics", "Acoustics" and "Renewable Energies". Furthermore, this programme is international in its orientation, and students from many continents work closely together in lectures, practice sessions, and projects. Students are qualified for employment in research and industry through an introduction to modern technologies. In the integrated research project, students gain valuable experience in a research centre or in a company. Modules amounting to 51 ECTS credits focus on the natural sciences and engineering, 33 ECTS credits in the specialisation area including an internship, 6 ECTS credits are reserved for management and the master's thesis is worth 30 ECTS credits. The program's profile includes: physics combined with engineering, mathematics lectures dealing with mathematical methods for physics and engineering, theoretical physics dealing with application situations, specialisation area to be freely chosen from biomedical physics, lasers and optics, materials science, renewable energies, acoustics, excellent future prospects, and an international environment.

* Minimum degree required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering Physics, natural or engineering scientific studies or in a closely related field * English Language Proficiency required at CEFR Level B2 * Special admission requirements apply as this is a restricted admission program * Graduates are qualified for all areas of technology oriented industrial and research organisations * Practical experience gained through project work qualifies graduates for management positions * The program is accredited until 30.09.2030 as part of the programme accreditation
