The Bachelor's program 'Computer Science and Sustainability' is a foundation and application-oriented program offered by the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at Julius Maximilians University Würzburg. The program combines the most important areas of computer science while integrating socially and economically relevant questions about environmental protection and sustainability. Students will develop competencies to understand and evaluate different concepts of sustainability. The program focuses on teaching computer science thinking, working methods, and methodology, as well as providing an overview of sustainability perspectives, particularly from biology and geography. Students can choose between two specializations: 'Sustainable IT' (focusing on energy-efficient, secure, reliable systems and networks) or 'IT for Sustainability' (focusing on environment, climate, and ecosystems).
