In the Master's program in Social Computing, you will acquire competencies in the specification and empirical assessment of software systems as well as in the implementation of software development projects with special consideration of the social context. The focus is on the teaching and application of in-depth knowledge in sub-areas of computer science, economics, and social sciences. The computer science education concentrates on software engineering and intelligent systems, while the social science education focuses on philosophy and psychology. In economics, the focus is on business administration, e-business, and startup management. You can set an individual focus in one of the areas of computer science, economics, or social sciences. The Master's program consists of three semesters of lectures from the three areas mentioned above. A research project must be completed in the second or third semester. The program concludes with a master's thesis that covers the entire fourth semester. Due to the international orientation of the IT industry and research, the department recommends spending a semester abroad.
