The Engineering and Management degree programme at Technische Hochschule Mannheim is designed for students interested in engineering and management who enjoy connecting various subject areas and thinking in an interdisciplinary way. The course consists primarily of fundamental scientific, engineering, legal and business-related content and is supplemented by the teaching of key soft skills and languages. All contents are taught in a practically-oriented way through lectures, exercises, case studies and lab experiments. The program prepares graduates to solve issues that need to be considered from technical, economic and legal angles at all management levels. Typical fields of employment include production, logistics, marketing and sales, consulting and research+development. The course structure includes a foundation course (semesters 1-2) covering fundamentals in mathematics, science, engineering and business administration, followed by the main part (semesters 3-7) with advanced study in engineering, business administration and IT subjects. Semester 5 is an internship semester in industry, and semester 7 includes research projects and bachelor's thesis.
