📋 Program Hakkında

The Master's program in Socio-Economics at the University of Duisburg-Essen addresses the growing need to examine current key social issues with interdisciplinary and pluralistic scientific approaches. The program focuses on socio-economic questions and problems of social and economic policy relevance, such as economic inequality, the future of European integration, the political economy of globalization, changes in the welfare state, growth, environment and employment, financial and economic crises, political effects of economic inequality, and state tasks and public debt. A special focus is placed on social, institutional, and political conditions and contexts of economic relationships and on application-oriented methodological training. A central principle, alongside interdisciplinarity, is a pluralism of perspectives, theories, and models, with the aim of making the controversy of economic policy positions visible.

* Successful completion of a BA degree or equivalent program (180 ECTS) in social sciences or economics, or another program with at least 20 ECTS in social sciences/economics * For qualifications from non-German-speaking institutions, proof of German language proficiency is required
