This program prepares future teachers for teaching the subject 'Sachunterricht' (General Studies) at primary schools. Students acquire scientific knowledge, didactic skills, and practical experience necessary for teaching this subject. The program covers knowledge about tasks and goals of a multi-perspective general studies curriculum, historical development of the subject, specific knowledge on selected contents and methods, knowledge of structural features and qualities of inclusive learning environments, skills in applying relevant methods and working techniques, and abilities to plan complex teaching units. The program is part of the primary school teaching degree, which requires studying three subjects (German, Mathematics, and a third subject like Sachunterricht).
