The Bachelor's program in Mechatronics focuses on the intelligent networking of mechanics, electronics, and computer science into mechatronic systems, which form the basis of many modern products and innovative future developments. After a broad education in the fundamentals of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and information processing, knowledge in mechatronics is deepened. This primarily includes control engineering, actuator and sensor technology, robotics, electrical drive technology, power electronics, and object-oriented software development. The general educational goals of the program are professional qualification for business and industry, and the ability for lifelong learning. Both goals are pursued through the teaching of solid fundamentals and practical, subject-specific knowledge, practical experience through laboratory work, internships and projects, development of abstraction ability and problem-solving competence, pursuit of a fundamentally scientific learning and working method characterized by self-control, and promotion of social competence such as communication and teamwork skills.
