📋 Program Hakkında

The Master program Biology runs over two years and provides a modern research-oriented training in a wide range of research areas within the biological sciences. These areas include animal physiology, biotechnology, botany, cellular biology, computational biology, ecology, genetics, microbiology, nanophysiology, neurobiology, phytopathology, plant physiology and zoology. Students receive a thorough theoretical training in lectures, courses and seminars, followed by several lab rotations in which they can explore divergent fields of scientific research. For their Master thesis, students select one research group and work on a scientific project in a modern research laboratory for six to eight months. The program offers four specialisations (majors) with students trained in small groups (mainly 10-20 people) in theory and lab courses: Ecology, Molecular Cell Biology, Molecular and Medical Neuroscience, and Microbial and Plant Biotechnology. Students can select an individual program based on their preferences. All courses are in English. The program has a practical component of approximately 60% based on credit points, with a total of 120 credits spread across 12 modules.

* Completion of bachelor with a very good grade (top 20%) * Theoretical AND practical training in a bachelor program with content comparable to the biology bachelor program at the University of Kaiserslautern * Practical lab courses that teach basic experimental procedures in subjects relevant for the chosen specialization * Basic lab skills and solid theoretical knowledge in molecular DNA techniques * Fluent English speaking, writing, and understanding * Applicants must achieve at least 50 assessment points calculated from subject competencies and the grade of the qualifying university degree

🗣 Dil Gereksinimleri

* TOEFL: minimum 213 points (paper-based 550 points, Internet-based 80 points) * CEFR: B2 level * Alternatively, sufficient English knowledge is demonstrated if: - University entrance qualification was obtained in Germany or is equivalent regarding English language education - Previous studies were predominantly conducted in English
