📋 Program Hakkında

The Sociology major is oriented towards applied and practical studies which trains students in the methods and techniques of social science work and provides them with access to contemporary and innovative fields of sociological practice (e.g. inequality research, violence/security research and critical ecology) by linking theoretically ambitious sociology with applied methodological training. After completing the Sociology major, students will be able to give a general overview of the causes and consequences of social developments and to classify them within the framework of different theoretical perspectives and reflect on their own perspective. The program explores questions like how social interaction works, why some societies sink into chaos while others do well, why some countries become rich and others remain poor, and why women still earn less than men.
