The Bachelor's programme in Waldorf Education is offered at the Institute for Waldorf Education, Inclusion and Intercultural Studies in Mannheim. It imparts the skills and knowledge required as a teacher in the context of (Waldorf) education. The programme combines scientific, artistic and social personality development with the aim of working "with and for people". A considerable portion of the course involves practical learning. This is accompanied by scientific theory and reflection. Another special feature is the high proportion of artistic (self-)education. By covering a broad repertoire of scientific and didactic-methodological content, the programme provides comprehensive preparation for the tasks awaiting future Waldorf educators. The curriculum includes: Early Childhood and Primary Education, Fundamentals of Waldorf Education, Education and Society, Studium Generale, Scientific Fields of Learning, Cultural Fields of Learning, Mathematics, Anthropology, Education in Practice (including intensive internships), Art in Practice (Eurythmy, music, painting, sculpting and speech formation), and Elective Subjects (English, horticulture, needlework, music, sports and experiential education, manual work). Career prospects of the graduates cover a wide range of educational fields: experiential teacher, assistant teacher, project work and after school childcare at all-day schools, leisure educator, youth work in sports clubs, open work with youth. The degree programme also qualifies students with the career goal of class teacher for admission to the Master's programme in Waldorf Education.
