📋 Program Hakkında

The Russian Bachelor of Education program is designed for students who are passionate about Russian language, literature, and history, and who want to become teachers at gymnasiums (secondary schools). The program focuses on teaching the Russian language and its didactic preparation. Students study Russian literature, history, and culture, learning to explain the modern state of the Russian language through historical linguistics and to teach the culture and history of Russia from its beginnings to the present. The program covers modern foreign language teaching methods, approaches to promote different language competencies (listening comprehension, reading comprehension, speaking, etc.), ways to integrate different needs, prior language knowledge, and cultural backgrounds of students into teaching, and age-appropriate methods for teaching Russian language, history, and culture. No prior knowledge of Russian is required as students can learn the language from the beginning at JGU. An intensive course for Russian students takes place in September/October and March/April before the actual start of the semester. The program includes a mandatory stay of at least 3 months in a Russian-speaking country, which can be integrated into the studies from the 3rd semester onwards.
