Geography is much more than geography lessons at school. The aim of the study is to capture, analyze and shape the spatial environment of humans at regional, national and partly global levels. In addition to a broad foundation of knowledge in natural and human sciences, physical-geographical, geoecological and economic or social-geographical recording methods are taught. Students at the University of Halle spend a lot of time in the field, in the laboratory and at the computer. The Bachelor's partial degree program in Geography (120 credit points) together with another Bachelor's partial degree program (60 credit points) leads to the first professional qualification and qualifies for a subsequent Master's degree program, for example for International Area Studies - Global Change Geography 120 LP, but also for initial specific tasks and problems in professional practice.
