Computer science is increasingly representing a key technology within the field of medical technology. The programme is highly interdisciplinary to meet the professional requirements of future graduates. It provides a thorough computer science education as well as a broad-based training within medical informatics. The curriculum prepares for software oriented job profiles. The competencies of future graduates can be found in the field of medical software development, computer assisted diagnosis, medical information systems as well as telemedicine. The programme includes mandatory courses in Foundations of Computer Science, Hard- and Software Systems, Software Engineering, Technical Foundations, Mathematics, Scientific/Medical Principles, and Principles of Medical Informatics. Students must also complete elective courses, a seminar, team project, and a 3-month Bachelor thesis.
