📋 Program Hakkında

The Master of Public Policy (MPP) is an interdisciplinary, practice-oriented social sciences degree that prepares students to address complex governance challenges. The program draws on tools and insights from economics, political science, sociology, law, public management and organisation, statistics and data science. It's a 2-year, full-time programme (120 ECTS) taught in English that bridges the gap between studying governance challenges and implementing policies to address them. Students can specialize in either policy analysis or governance and leadership. The program includes an integrated professional development component with internship and Professional Year programme, practice-oriented teaching with the Hertie School Policy Lab, career services, and access to professional and alumni networks. The first year develops analytical skills in statistics and economics, along with principles of public management, law and governance, policy-making process, and project management. The second year allows deeper exploration of the chosen concentration area and includes writing a master's thesis.

* Minimum degree required: Undergraduate degree (bachelor's or equivalent) of at least six semesters at an institution of higher education * Selection criteria (weighted): * Personal suitability (40%): CV, professional experience, entrepreneurship, international experience, civic engagement * Academic excellence (40%): Strength of academic background, academic performance - grades/transcripts, general academic qualification, linguistic qualification * Motivation (20%): Convincing motivation to study public policy, motivation to study at the Hertie School, overall coherence * English language proficiency required

* English proficiency certificate required for non-native speakers * Waiver possible: Officially stamped letter from university stating that the language of instruction of entire study programme was English * Note: Applicants holding only a master's degree from an English-speaking graduate school cannot waive the test * Deadline to submit English test results: July 1
