📋 Program Hakkında

Translation Chinese (BA) is a program focused on developing proficiency in both Chinese and German languages and cultures. The program is designed for individuals who were raised bilingually with a connection to China, those interested in Chinese culture with prior knowledge of Chinese, or those from China/Greater China interested in German language and culture. The program aims to create bridge-builders between the two languages and cultures. It emphasizes that translation is more than recoding between languages, requiring profound knowledge of language subtleties, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to quickly adapt to new subject areas. The program includes a practical training semester that can be completed at a partner university in China or at a company in China/Greater China or the German-speaking world.
