The subject of French in the Master of Education program includes practical application of the French language as well as French literature, linguistics and cultural studies. The program covers the improvement of practical French language skills (oral and written) and translations in academic and socio-cultural contexts. It includes content from literary criticism and linguistics, with students learning multiple methods and theories and their practical application. Students critically analyze French literature of various epochs, genres and authors, considering cultural, political and societal contexts. The program emphasizes educational sciences and subject didactics, with theories of language teaching and learning, and methodologies of communicative foreign language instruction. Students choose two school subjects (French and a second subject) plus educational sciences. The practical semester is a key component of the program.

* University degree (German or non-German) in a relevant discipline * Two foreign languages (modern languages on CEFR level A2 or qualification in Latin/Greek) * Specific modules: 67 ECTS credits each in subject knowledge/subject didactics modules of the chosen school subjects (with 3 ECTS credits each in subject didactics) * 24 ECTS credits in educational sciences (with 3 ECTS credits on the topic of inclusion; aptitude and orientation internship as well as vocational internship) * Bachelor's thesis 7 ECTS credits * 9 weeks internship, including 25 days at a school
