📋 Program Hakkında

The Master Program AI at FAU is designed to give graduates a solid understanding of artificial intelligence that is broad in application and intersection with other disciplines as well as deep and well-founded in the academic methodologies of the field. The program consists of three main pillars: symbolic AI (such as Expert Systems and Logical Calculi), subsymbolic AI (such as Deep and Machine Learning) and AI systems and applications. The degree course offers a broad variety of topics and specializations. The wide range of applications and research groups in the Department of Computer Science provides broad opportunities for "hands-on" project work and practical sessions. In contrast to Data Science oriented programs, AI focuses on the constructive modelling and implementation of algorithms, data structures, neural networks and their respective applications. The program takes a minimum of four semesters and encompasses 120 ECTS credits, with the main purpose of the last semester being the preparation of the master's thesis (30 ECTS). The program structure includes: Electives (50 ECTS), Projects (20 ECTS), Seminar (5 ECTS), Minor (15 ECTS), and Master's Thesis (30 ECTS). The program uses the following abbreviations: Sym = Symbolic AI, ML = Machine Learning / Subsymbolic AI, SA = AI Systems and Applications, SWS = Semesterwochenstunden (Semester Week Hours), WiSe/SoSe = Winter/Summer Semester.

* Bachelor's degree in informatics or computer science is the central qualification factor * Applicants from related fields need to demonstrate familiarity with necessary material * Participation in an online test during the application process * Proficiency and experience in both using and programming computers * Solid programming experience * Well-rounded education in Mathematics

* English (level B2, CEFR) * TOEFL: 560 or equivalent qualification * Non-standard requirements: confirmation of the university that the Bachelor's program was taught in English
