Automated driving, electrically powered and environmentally friendly - the technical demands on the car are increasing with the change in traffic. In Germany's largest industrial sector, the automotive industry, automotive engineers use their know-how to develop the vehicle of the future. As a student, you will deal with all the relevant components of vehicle technology - starting with the design of the body, through classic, hybrid and electric drives, to assistance systems for automated driving. In the state-of-the-art laboratories of the Thuringian Innovation Center for Mobility (ThIMo), a technological center and research institute renowned throughout Europe, you will apply your theoretical knowledge in practice. You will assemble engines on test benches, develop and test vehicle parts, or simulate the driving experience. The degree program is not only practice-oriented, but also strongly focused on industrial research in the mobility sector. New technical developments and trends are quickly integrated into the teaching. The study program is closely linked with industrial partners, including many notable car manufacturers and suppliers in Germany.
