📋 Program Hakkında

The Master of Education (MEd) in English follows the Bachelor of Education (BEd) and complements teacher education. After earning the MEd, students can be admitted to the teacher traineeship ("Referendariat"). The program consists of literary, linguistic and practical modules. Literary modules teach analysis and critical reflection on literatures and cultures of the English-speaking world. Students study literature from all epochs and genres, with various theoretical approaches. Linguistic modules cover structure and history of English language, including phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, language acquisition, and English varieties. Practical courses improve English language skills through regional studies, oral proficiency, reading comprehension, writing, translation, and grammar. The program also includes didactics and education classes.

✅ Giriş / Kabul Koşulları

* Completed bachelor's degree in teacher education "Gymnasium" with two majors or equivalent degree * Alternatively, graduates of a six-semester bachelor's programme with elements of teacher education may be admitted * Minimum of 64 ECTS in each major * Minimum of 5 ECTS in teaching methodologies of each major * Minimum of 12 ECTS in educational sciences * Three-week orientation internship at a "Gymnasium", vocational school, "Gemeinschaftsschule" with upper secondary level students, or equivalent school internship * Up to 50 ECTS of missing elements can be completed during the master's programme

🗣 Dil Gereksinimleri

* German language skills: level DSH-2 or TestDaF 4, or equivalent language test for international applicants * English skills: Documentation of either 4 years of classes in secondary education or 3 years of classes in the last 3 years before completing general higher education entrance qualification (Abitur), with final grade "ausreichend/sufficient" or better * Alternatively, level B2 certificate of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) for English * Skills in one other foreign language required
