📋 Program Hakkında

The history and present of Christianity are the focus of theology. Protestant theology places particular emphasis on the Reformation and the theology of the Reformers, as well as on the theology developed in modern times on the basis of the Reformation and on the history of the churches of the Reformation. In general, the subject of theology is divided into biblical theology (Old Testament and New Testament), historical theology (church history), systematic theology (dogmatics and ethics) and practical theology (religious education, preaching, pastoral care). The study of foreign religions (Judaism, Islam), the cooperation with Catholic theology and the examination of religious education and didactic issues are emphasized at Osnabrück University. Students studying towards a degree in Vocational Teacher Education will first study the six-semester-long Bachelor of Vocational Education program, combining a vocational specialization with a general education subject. Subsequently, they must take the four-semester-long Master of Vocational Education program in the same subjects.
